-One person is dead after the car they were driving was involved in an accident on STH 29 by the Highway 73 Withee overpass in the Township of Longwood.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call of the crash around 11:15am, on Sunday March 19th. An initial investigation indicates a Buick Century, being driven by 30-year-old Aaron Dierich, was eastbound on STH 29 when it struck a guardrail at the Highway 73 Withee overpass. The vehicle continued east and came to rest in the south ditch facing an easterly direction.

Two children in the rear seat, a 5 and an 8 year old, restrained in booster seats, received serious injuries and were transported to the Marshfield St. Joseph’s Hospital. Aaron was pronounced dead at the scene. Failure to have control appears to be a factor in the accident. Aaron is from Chippewa Falls and was wearing his seatbelt. This is the 3nd traffic fatality in Clark County for 2017.
