HALF-PERCENT TAX WILL GET A VOTE NEXT WEEK

It looks like Clark County supervisors will vote on a half-percent sales tax ordinance this month.
The board meets next Wednesday.
At an Executive Committee meeting Monday, Finance Committee Chairman Charles Harwick stated his committee will look over a proposed ordinance at their meeting next Monday.
If the committee doesn't vote to bring the issue to the board, Harwick will sponsor it himself.
According to state estimates, the piggy-backed half-percent tax could raise an additional $1.6-million for a county struggling to make ends meet.
