NEILLSVILLE COUNCIL BEEFS UP ORDINANCE

With little discussion last night, the Neillsville City Council passed an amendment to an ordinance regulating "adult establishments".

The amendment basically bans nude dancing at establishments licensed to sell alcohol.

Neillsville Mayor Diane Murphy said many other communities around the state were passing similar amendments to prevent strip clubs from opening in their towns.

The council also approved an application for the $10,000 state liquor license for the old American Legion Hall facility downtown. The developers of that property, Heather and Dean Hainz, said they planned to start a tavern in the basement of the building and run a sign business and rental property office on the upper floor.
