A candidate for Neillsville’s City Council is bowing out of the race. Jim Ratch had planned a run against sitting 4th ward council member Dale Berger, but is withdrawing his name. Ratsch has accepted an offer to return to a nursing position in Beverly Hills, California. Ratsch’s name will still appear on the ballot, but he wouldn’t be able to serve if elected to the post.
