Area business owners are being warned to be on the lookout for counterfeit checks.

49 year-old David Olson and his brother 53 year-old Richard Olson have extensive criminal backgrounds, and are wanted by numerous law enforcement agencies, including those in Eau Claire and Chippewa counties.

Authorities say they cashed four counterfeit checks in the Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls area in December. All four checks were cashed on the same day at different businesses in the area. An ID was not obtained from either subject during these transactions.

They drive an older model full-size Chevrolet conversion van. They are using checks with fraudulent names, but the checks do have a bank routing number of 09100019. The routing number is for Wells Fargo Bank.

David is 5'08" tall and weighs 480 lbs. He has a history of assault with weapons.

Anyone that has contact with the men is asked to call their local law enforcement agency.
