WOOD CO. SHERIFF WILL DRIVE PARTIERS HOME
Thursday, December 27th, 2007 -- 11:53 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

New Year's Eve revelers in Wood County might get a ride from the Sheriff… and not get in trouble.

Sheriff Thomas Reichert is again personally volunteering to give rides for the Wood County Tavern League's Safe Ride Program. The participating taverns have vouchers for free rides home they can give to patrons who shouldn't drive.

A couple car dealerships have donated a van for the Sheriff to use.

Reichert worked until around 4 a.m. last year visiting Nekoosa, Wisconsin Rapids, Arpin and other areas in Wood County. He said it was fun and he had some "very funny conversations" with people.
