MARSHFIELD, CLARK UNITED WAYS JOIN FORCES

For the first time, Marshfield Area United Way is teaming up with Clark County United Way to raise funds to help programs addressing needs in the Neillsville area.
Kim Baltus is the Executive Director of the Marshfield Area United Way.
"We work to provide funding support and collaboration with human services programs," Baltus says. "We have three focus areas: community and basic needs, families and seniors and youth initiatives."
Baltus notes both the Marshfield and Clark County United Ways have served Neillsville-area residents by funding programs like the American Red Cross, Boy Scouts, Interfaith Caregivers and Child Care Resource and Referral.
Both groups hope a little teamwork will go a long way.
"We have the expertise of the United Way campaigns, however, the Clark County United Way board of directors certainly has the residency and familiarity with many of the people that live in the Neillsville area," Baltus explains.
The Marshfield Area United Way fundraising goal this year is $1,116,000—they're currently at 55-percenter of their goal.
This collaborative effort will be the topic for a new program on Memories 1370 AM. In Depth begins Tuesday morning at 9:03 and replaces Viewpoint. In Depth will air every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:03.
