There were three more confirmed cases of whooping cough in Greenwood area Monday. So far, 11 Greenwood students have the bacterial infection that causes severe coughing fits.

Clark County Health Officer Deb Miller says there are many more lab tests pending and officials hope to have a good feel for how extensive the outbreak is on Tuesday. Miller has been in constant contact with state officials, who’ve determined it is not necessary to cancel classes at the school yet.

Whooping cough—or Pertussis--is highly contagious.
