8 INJURED IN CRASH NEAR UNITY

The Clark County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash in the town of Unity. The crash injured 8, including 5 children.

According to a Sheriff’s Department press release, the accident occurred at the intersection of Sandhill Avenue and Starks Road. These are both rural, gravel roads controlled by a yield signs on Starks Road.

A truck driven by 23-year-old Jeffrey Mohr of Wausau was westbound on Starks Road, as it entered the intersection, it was struck by a northbound van, which had seven passengers. The van was driven by 29-year-old Mindy Norton of Spencer.

The five children in the van ranged in age from 5 to 9. Everyone involved in the accident was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield with injuries. Some were transported by ambulance while others were airlifted.

While the conditions of each of the patients is not known, some are considered in critical condition. The investigation continues into the accident continues.
