SOME GOLF BALLS RETURNED

Legends Golf Center, a practice facility in Marshfield, was the scene of a now legendary heist.
Someone made off with 36,000 range golf balls over a six-week period. Now, some of those balls have been recovered.
Wood County authorities say 4,000 were returned as at least some of the culprits have turned themselves in.
Legends owner Bret Knutson says the balls had been disappearing gradually for some time, but vandals got more brazen last week, actually damaging a shed and golf cart prompting the complaint.
Authorities say it’s possible some of the thefts were not connected and there are multiple thieves out there.
