PUSH STILL ON FOR SMALLER BOARD

A Granton man continues to push for a smaller Clark County Board.

On Friday, Pete Hellios of Granton filed an “Intent to Circulate Petitions” with the County Clerk’s office.

He now has 60 days to gather the over 1,400 signatures needed to force a referendum on the issue. If he’s successful, the question will appear on the November ballot.

The referendum would cut the County Board from 29 members to 14.

A straw poll taken at a recent County Board meeting showed very little interest in voluntarily cutting the size of the Board.
