CLARK ELECTRIC SEES RECORD DEMAND
Monday, July 17th, 2006 -- 2:00 pm
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

From Clark Electric Cooperative:

Clark Electric Cooperative and the other 25 electric cooperatives of the Dairyland Power Cooperative system are experiencing record electrical demand on its power system. Members of Clark Electric are asked to help lower electrical demand during the hot, humid weather, especially from 3 to 8 p.m. Customers are asked to limit electrical consumption during this time of record-setting energy use.

Please help by following these tips:

·Set thermostats no lower than 78 degrees.

·Draw shades or blinds to prevent the sun from adding more heat to the room.

·Use ceiling and portable fans to enhance the cooling ability of your air conditioner. Even mild air movement can make you feel cooler.

·Make sure your air conditioner filters are clean for peak efficiency.

·Try to avoid times of peak energy use (3 to 8 p.m.) to do chores requiring electrical use, such as running the dishwasher and doing laundry.

·Call your local energy cooperative and inquire about the Load Management Program.
