THREATS PROMPT JUDGE'S RECUSAL

Clark County Circuit Court Judge Jon Counsel has removed himself from the Wayne Jensen case after reports Jensen threatened to “pipe bomb” him.

Jensen was convicted in the pipe bomb explosion that injured two people in July of 2003 as they drove to work on HWY 10, north of Neillsville.

Jensen, 35, has been serving a three-year prison term at a Dodge County prison.

Now, authorities say a Neillsville man, visiting Jackson Correctional Institute to visit a friend, was told by the friend Jensen was "mouthing off" about "pipe bombing Judge Jon” – a likely reference to Counsel.

Both the Dodge County and the Jackson County sheriff's departments were notified of the report.

While Jensen’s case appeared resolved after a plea deal was reached, Clark County D-A Darwin Zwieg has filed motion to rescind and vacate the plea deal because Jensen backed out of an agreement to testify against his wife, Cynthia.

No further court proceedings are scheduled.
