COLBY VOTERS TURN BACK ANOTHER REFERENDUM
Friday, June 30th, 2006 -- 9:46 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
The Colby school board again went to voters to request more money, and they were again denied yesterday. On a lopsided vote of 333 in favor to 1,395 against, residents turned back the district’s request to exceed state revenue caps by $1-million for the next five years. The money would have gone towards future budgets, and kept the Dorchester Elementary School open. Voters failed another referendum four months ago.
