Regional Wrestling This Saturday

Regionals in high school wrestling will take place this Saturday around the state including a Division 2 Regional at the Fieldhouse in Neillsville.

Weigh-ins on Saturday at Neillsville will be at 9am with the first session to start at 10:30 am.

Abbotsford/Colby, Arcadia, Black River Falls, Medford Area, Melrose-
Mindoro/Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal and Stanley-Boyd/Owen-Withee/Thorp will all be in Neillsville for the Regional on Saturday.
Qualifying individuals would advance to the Amery Individual Sectional while the top team would advance to the Ellsworth Team Sectional.

Divisions 2 and 3 qualify the first two wrestlers from each regional to one of four sectionals.
The wrestlers who finish first and second in each weight class at each sectional (in Division 1) qualify for the State Individual Tournament. That means there will be 224 wrestlers in Division 1. The top three finishers in Divisions 2 and 3 advance to State. In Divisions 2 and 3, there will be 168 wrestlers at the State Individual Meet at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Division 1 qualifies the first four wrestlers from each regional competition to one of eight sectionals.

Individual Sectionals are Saturday, February 22nd.

The State Individual Tournament will be Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 27-28 and March 1.

There will be 48 schools that advance to sectionals in the team tournament. These schools will be the team champions of the 16 regionals in each division. The 16 teams in Division 1 are assigned to two-team sectional tournaments. The 16 teams in Divisions 2 and 3 are assigned to four-team sectional tournaments.

Team Sectionals are Tuesday, February 18th.

Eight teams in Division 1 and four teams in Divisions 2 and 3 advance to the State Team Tournament at the UW-Madison Field House on March 7th and 8th.

NEENAH - Appleton East, Appleton North, Appleton West, Hortonville, Menasha, Neenah, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, Xavier/Saint Mary Central.
TOMAH - Baraboo, Holmen, La Crosse Central, La Crosse Logan, Onalaska, Osseo-Fairchild/Altoona/Augusta/Fall Creek, Reedsburg Area, Tomah.
EDGAR - Athens, Auburndale, Edgar, Marathon, Pittsville, Spencer, Stratford.
SPRING VALLEY/ELMWOOD - Boyceville, Cadott, Durand, Glenwood City, Mondovi, Regis, Spring Valley/Elmwood.
