Listening Session With Representative Bob Kulp, Part 8
Thursday, February 6th, 2014 -- 1:24 pm

-Representative Bob Kulp discussed many topics during a listening session held in Marshfield last week.

Representative Kulp talked about redistricting in the state of Wisconsin.

Representative Kulp said, "I have been doing my research. I've had a number of e-mail correspondence back and forth with the Government Accountability Board, the guys who count the votes, in trying to understand if there is a disparity. I've had conversations off line with others that have been instrumental in drawing the map. I think one of the concerns that people have is that it seems like there is a disparity between Republicans and Democrats. And there is right now. It's a 59/40 split. If you were to draw the lines in the other extreme, which would totally favor Democrats, there would probably be six seats at maximum that would switch. Just because of where the democratic populations are compared to the republican population."

Representative Kulp is a business owner in Stratford and was elected to replace Scott Suder at the end of last year after his resignation.
