-Bond was set for a former Abbotsford High School Math teacher accused of sexually assaulting two of his female students.

According to the criminal complaint, Abbotsford Police Officer Jason Bauer was called to the Abbotsford High School on Friday of last week. He was informed by Abbotsford’s Principal that they received a letter of resignation from 25-year-old Andy Follen and they were investigating allegations that Follen had an inappropriate relationship with some of his female students.

Officer Bauer later interviewed two female students, whose names were provided by the principal, and both students indicated that between October of 2013 and December of 2013, they had engaged in sexual and oral intercourse on several occasions.

During the bail hearing, Clark County District Attorney, Lyndsey Boon-Brunette asked for a $5,000 cash bond, but Follen’s attorney, Harold Wolfgram, asked for a $2,500 cash bond in light of Follen’s community ties, his clean record and strong family support.

Clark County Judge John Counsel agreed to the $2,500 bond and also set terms that Follen is not allowed on any school grounds, can have no contact with his victims or a witness and must call the Sheriff’s Department every Friday from a land line so they know where he is.

Follen has five counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff filed against him and if he’s convicted, and sentenced to the maximum amount, he could face a $60,000 fine and 36 years in prison. Follen will appear in court again in March.
