The Clark County Coyotes will be participating in their first ever Playdown in youth hockey this weekend.

The Coyotes will be participating in Region 6 in the Squirt 4A division where there are 19 teams total. Youth ages 9 and 10 years old comprise the Squirt division in youth hockey.

The Coyotes will play on Saturday at Sparta at 1:30pm. If they beat Sparta, they would then be the Region 6 Squirt 4A representative at the State Tournament in Shawano on March 8th and 9th. If the Coyotes lose on Saturday, they would play on Sunday morning at 10 am vs. Viroqua at Black River Falls. The winner of that matchup would be the Wild Card and also advance to the State Tournament.

8 teams will represent Region 6 in Squirt 4A at the State Tournament.

Clark County Youth Hockey is a part of the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association or WAHA and they are only 1 of 2 outdoor programs in the entire state.

You can hear more from coach Matt Jorgenson on the radio show "In Depth", Friday morning at 9:03 on 1370 AM WCCN. Also at halftime of the boys basketball game on Friday night on 92.7 FM WPKG.
