-The Owen City Council discussed their Comprehensive Plan and heard the Community Development Authority Report at their Tuesday meeting last week.

CDA Director, Tim Swiggum, discussed a scheduled Public Hearing to amend the 25 Year Comprehensive land use plan for the city. The meeting is scheduled for February 10th at 6 pm to amend the plan along the south side of County Road X from the Owen-Withee School to the Village of Withee. The Planning Committee will make a recommendation to the city council.

Mr. Swiggum also reported that he continues to have conversations with Jim Louks about his financing and the Family Dollar agreement has been reached on the Konwinski property. They will need to go through several public meetings to gain approval.

The CN Railroad property closing is waiting for the title work to be completed, the Downtown Revitalization Committee will be meeting on Thursday to discuss the upcoming year and there has been some interest in the Agribusiness Park but no details on potential development has come forth as of yet.

Finally, Mr. Swiggum said the Community Garden and Tree Board have received a $980 grant from American Transmission Line to plant 30 trees in the area between 5th and 6th Streets and these will be fruit and nut trees designed to benefit the community.
