Owen-Withee School Board Has First Reading Of 400 Series

The Owen-Withee School Board had the first reading of the 400 series of student policies.

The policy committee has finished their review of the series of policies that deal with Students and have brought it to the full board for the first reading. Most of the policies in this series are the same as the policies the district currently has, but they have been edited to meet legal requirements and to identify individuals responsible for implementing specific policies.

One policy that described first aid procedures and techniques was removed from the manual. Another policy, 441.2–Student Representation on the Board, is being reviewed.

Currently, the board does not have a student rep on the board. The Board is deciding whether to delete this policy, implement it or revise policy or practice to gain more student input. The 400 Series will be on the December agenda for the second reading, when the policies will become official district policy
